Since 1866: the story of Sweethearts
The candy that talks
Sweethearts started as motto candies in 1866, when a Boston confectioner figured out how to print words right on a sweet. In 1902 the words landed on a heart, and Valentine season has never looked the same.
Today the hearts are made by Spangler Candy in Bryan, Ohio. Same crisp little candy, same short sayings, new batches of them every year.
What we put in a box
Every box is 0.9 ounces of assorted fruit flavored hearts with sayings like BE MINE and LOVE BUG. We box them four ways: a trio for one special someone, a twelve pack for a small circle, a 36-count tray for classrooms, and bulk bags for party bowls and baking.
About this catalog
This site is our shelf, not our register. When you tap a buy button you land at our retail partner, and their checkout takes it from there. We keep the cards, the sizes and the stories here in one place so choosing takes a minute, not an evening.
